Peace and Love North of the Border?:
Toronto’s Take on Protest
Are Torontonians more politically aware than most? We often think of ourselves as very liberal and well-read; our city has more participation in libraries than anywhere else in the world. This exhibit traces Toronto’s contradictions: from being a safe haven for people fleeing political persecution from all over the world, to having low voter turnouts in municipal elections. Just how successful are we in engaging each other and newcomers in what it means to be politically aware and locally active?
